what is the facination with 8 inch rims? alot of people run them and alot of them are being sold? why not just get 9 inchers like stock?

all depends on what you ride. i for instance race mx so i use 8in. on the other hand someone who trail rides and wants more ground clearence would use bigger tires like 9 or 10in rims

so running a 18 inch tires is better on a 8 in then a 9 inch more side wall and stuff, softer ride etc.

well there is the problem with MX tires, turf tamers dont come in 9 inch rims for the 18 inch tires, so you need to run 8's.. 8's are also preffered because you have more sidewall and less of a chance of a rock hitting the rim and bending it(in the case that you dont have beadlocks or race rims)

most people usually say 8's are better for mx. 9's for trails and stuff simalar to that. And 10's for dunes and what not

What they all said.... If ya have 8 inch rims then ya don't have as much of a risk of a bent rim when running an 18 in tire because then there is more distance between the rim and the ground....

8 inch rims are good for all the bumping and grinding in close mx racing becasue they are smaller like nacs425ex said, 9 are for a little more open riding like trails and what not, and 10 inch rims are just for open dunes.................

Is there a wieght difference in all of them. As in more tire for the 8" Rim makes for a heavy Tire or the 10" make it heavier for the more metal and less tire?????

Just courios

I hate 8" wheels (been there, done that)
I have no idea why people run 8" rears, because 9" wheels are lighter and have less sidewall flex!
Its tru the 8" wheels will make the quad ride slighly better, but the handeling and weight advantage of a 9" wheel is just much better.
Thats prolly why the factory's run 9" also. ;)
