300ex cold blooded engine ?

are the 300ex known to have cold blooded engine ? im having a hard time starting mine.. it has a open air filter dunno if that could be causing this and its also piped but dont think its jetted

Myn's great at starting cold! I've got a full exhaust and a UNI on it, stock jets, which i really should change it sure aint good for it. But anyways -10f, full choke and it fires right up!

Usually have to start mine with choke in the cold. Then ride with half choke for a minute or so. After the first start up though its not hard at all.

also my engine cuts alot at any rpm does it have something to do with the carb or ignition issues ?

sounds like you may have carb issues. Check your needle setting. Start out in the middle and see if it runs better.

As for your cold starting. Number one cause for hard to start when cold is tight vavles.

accually no lid could be your problem. i tried it on myn once with stock jetting and it ran like it was cold and didn't start great.
