And try doing a search there are alot of threads on what shocks to get, yet I would go with axis, fox are setup for such a range that they not spicific enough, plus that little pump is annoying as ****

Chances are, if your already thinking about selling your Fox to get Axis you would probably end up going with the Kashima coating then still wanting to get Axis. I don't think the coating is going to be a deal breaker. So save some money in the long run and go with Axis spring you won't be disappointed...Just my experience

Id say go with PEP's there the best axis isnt the best anymore and the fox's all the pro's run are set up way different then the ones the public buy...

if no one has figured this out yet, there is no correct answer, everyone has their opinion. Some love fox, some hate them, some say axis are terrible but others love them. If you think you are going to be faster on an axis shock then the fox's you have you are wrong. Just keep the fox's serviced regularly and you will be set...Fox rears are a different story though, the valving from from fox sucks with the rear shocks, your better off with axis or pep rears

I sold my fox and bought axis, and never looked back, although if I had the money I'd buy PB1's...For the rear,PEP hands down, just my opinion

Can you explain how they are setup differently?

They totally redo valving and test over and over with differant setups. from the factory floats come setup so general They dont perform near as well.

The floats are setup for just anyone the pep's are custom set up to you...When you get a set of fox shocks they dont ask you what your riding what type of rider your skill lvl anything they just ask for aarm and atv...If you use someone like sf racing or baldwin or even pep themselves they set the shock up for YOU. PB1 are great shock thats also why they cost the most you get what you pay for...

I have both setups and I do like the Fox, but they are a pain to get them dialed in. In the long run, I think you will be more happy with Axis.

You can make almost any shock work like pep. It isnt like they have some sort of special top secret components. It just may take some valving to get them there find a shock tuner and work with them

Thats why you send your fox shox to your shock guy and let him set them up specifically for you! Thats how you get those fox shox like the pros!! :D

most people dont have the money to try even three different valving setups. the pro's try ALOT of different valving until its perfect, then they keep testing to see if they can find something better

Yes, but..honestly if your going to spend that much on shocks, you reall need to have them set up for you. Not so much trying several different valving options...just a good shock guy will be able to get you much closer than just a "general" factory set up.
