I'm thinking about getting an atv stand for the shop. I don't think I'd ever need one on the track though. Does anybody know of a good, cheap stand that anyone has? I've looked on Motosport and RM and found a couple, but they were $130 range and the rest are for bikes. I found this on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/MOTOCROSS-DIRT-BIKE-ATV-LIFT-STAND-DIRTBIKE-QUAD-MOTO-/390312066265?pt=Motors_ATV_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item5ae0697cd9#ht_2467wt_1270 it doesn't look too bad, alittle cheap, but still good. I was hoping not to spend over $100 if I could. And all I want is a dirt bike style stand that it rated for 500 lbs. and won't fall over with my 400 on it.

honestly if its for the shop only, i'd recommend building outta wood one and putting castor wheels on it. i built one from materials i had laying around and by chance i made it the perfect height; put the quad in gear, push it up on its rear wheels, wheel the cart under it, and set it down until the rear of the frame meets the surface of the stand... hold the stand still with one foot and the quad perchess itself right up on it. reverse to get it off, no help needed.

not to mention the castors are invaluable IMO.. you can move it outta the way, or spin it around when your sitting on a stool working on it.

here's an older picture of mine:

Believe it or not, but Harbor Freight has a "decent" atv jack that has held up pretty well.

I have used Matrix M2 dirt bike stands, 2' tall aluminum stands, & the Polisport folding stand. I like the ATV jack the best because you can maneuver it around (wheels) in the shop. The Polisport is nice for the track/pressure washing.

Yep. I use it 99% of the time for our mini's but I've had my 400 on it a couple of times when washing it.
I have the Craftsman bike/atv lift as well that I mainly use for the 400 simply because it weighs more than our mini's.....and I can wheel it around when working in the garage.

Burgard makes a stand...I know somebody else has one like this too with a video showing how easy is it to get the quad onto it.

Ended up buying a Craftsman ATV lift from the local Sears. It was only $90 and is the same thing that other sites have for $150-$200.It was pretty simple to assemble and does it's job pretty good. Came with ratchet straps that are nice, but insanely long, I may cut them down a bit. But other than that it's a pretty good buy. Thanks for all the replies and suggestions guys!
