Why does pictures post, some times they don't?

Some times I can post the a picture by pasting the img link(photbucket) in, the picture will post up. Other times it just is the picture address? Any reason?

I'm wondering the same sort of thing about youtube videos, how do people get them to come up as a small video right on the page instead of just a link to the youtube video itself??

when viewing youtube video...

select share and then select embed. Cut and paste the code that shows up into here.
The code starts with < and finishes with >.
