I had a link to the trx450r forum to tell everyone about my build over there, I post a lot of pictures and update quite frequently. My build thread has 9 pages and a ton of pictures on each page.

Well here it is all complete. It has a fresh new black powder coat job on the frame. The engine was completely rebuilt into a 501 stroker. It has a +3 HD Hotrods crank trued and balanced, 13:1 CP piston, Ported head with Ferrea complete valve and spring kit, hotcams stage 3, Complete tusk clutch kit w/ tokyo mods ltr450 clutch springs. It runs off trick 110 racing fuel. This thing is a dune monster, but its finally complete and now I can move on to my girl's bike.

McCrills, I was wondering about your exhaust wrap because I am planning on wrapping the exhaust on my kfx450 all the way back to the muffler.

Anyway, what length, width, and thickness wrap did you use?

Works well?

Thanks, Pierce

It looks ok until you ride it once. I had my wrapped for, well, one ride. Your boots will make it fray and look like crap right away. My $0.02

I wasn't asking on looks of the wrap, but confirming the fact that it does reduce heat from the pipe.

My main inquiry was about the length, width, and thickness of the wrap that McCrillis runs on his honda so I know what to by for my Kawasaki KFX450R.

I'd rather have it look like crap and protect my right leg.

Just MY 2 cents

Easy turbo! You asked if it "works well" and I gave you my experience. Also from experience, boots are generally the best way to protect your legs ;)
