rebuild suggestions????

Hey guys i have a 2003 400 and am taking everything apart over the next few months to paint the frame/ sub frame ect.... the only thing i have done to it is put on new tie rods and a new carrier. pretty sure im going to buy an exhaust curious as to what other parts i should buy. although i am on some what of a limited budget. just looking for some opinions on what to get.

I'm a big fan of nerf bars. Know off guys side swapping fence posts or trees an nerfs would of saved some hurt on them.

sorry i've never owned a quad without that slipped my mind i have those too. the plastics are in decent shape and so are the tires/rims. I'm thinking maybe an aftermarket exhaust and a amr racing stage 3 cdi box.

i was considering jetting it but idk ive never jetted a quad before.

Just so you know everything ive bought brake/clutch levers, nerf bars, tie rods/ends, & ive replaced the carrier

Am open to all sugestions

youre not gonna need the cdi with the stock motor.. thats more for a race built IMO. I'd try to find a cheap pair of 450r front shocks. One of the best mods for the 400

oh i was reading up on it and it said it worked well with a stock motor and after market exhaust. is it just one of those unnesicery things?? What are the top performance mods i can do to it?? should i look for rear shock also?

well i dont know forsure about the cdi so im not gonna guide you wrong but from what i hear the 400 doesnt need it stock. and as for the rear you should be okay with the stock. I only have the fronts and im very happy. another good mod for the 400 is the sparks 20$ timing key..

you recomend a certain plug?? i am planning to spend 600-800 in new parts i considered shocks i found some decent ones from anywhere from 250-400 on ebay. what else you recomend??

what do you mean plug? and id search around.. i found mine for 250 on craigslist. if youre not looking to do any motor work.. Id go motoworks exhaust and maybe jet it.. take the airbox lid off and run the sparks key.. thats what I ran and I feel i got the best power out of that with a stock engine. Pretty much in my signature lol

if i decide to do motor work to it what would you suggest?? Just put a big bore kit in a 300ex a couple months ago for my cousin.

that my delima right now also lol. everyone on here is saying going with the 416 wiseco 11:1 piston. stage 2 hotcam. crf cam chain. and jet the carb. thats what everyone will tell you on the forum. but my mechanic is telling me to do what is in the bottom of my signature. decisions :devil:

I just picked up an fmf power core2 slip on from a buddies for 50 bucks. I've been looking on eBay at 450rwork front shocks found some that look good for between 200 and 250 that's a good price right???
