I've ben a car painter and builder for year. I've also have laid down carbon fiber a few times. It's very hard. I'm thinking about making some quad panels but before I get into it alot I need some feedback on what you guys thinks. It cames in many colors and it very light. Thanks 315-224-4209 call or text.

What do i think of carbon fiber? If it could be as flexible ,cheap and chip resistant as plastic it would be great . So far I have yet to see any that met those standards.

I've looked around and can't find anything. For the flexibility it's all about how many layer I do. If I put 3 layers for the fenders it will flex 3"-6" If I put down 6 layers it will be stronger but only flex 3"-4". And for chipping the clear coat is resin it's very strong just like the stuff that goes on boat. For cost it's going to be more but from the weight saving it with be worth it. I will feel safe to make hand guards, rad sheild and front fenders. I have some CF ordered I'll test it out first.

We have had carbon fiber parts, the thicker stuff is pretty good (like the quad tech shock guards) the thin stuff not so much, tons of those spider web looking cracks, so brittle..
