Front Brake Master Cylinder Help

Hi, I am new to the forums and new to working on atvs all together. I currently have a 1994 300. The from brake cylinder is completely frozen. I've been looking around online for parts for it, found a few sites with decent deals. My question tho is, can you use a newer model master cylinder on the older atv?

I have 2 links here for the 1994 and a 2009 Fourtrax 300s, and the 2 are almost identical.
Just buying the full "M/CYL SUB-ASSY, FR. " there is a $40 difference in price, and that would help out alot.
