Hey guys. I recently picked up a brand new set of Houser A arms and when installing them I noticed that there was a lot of play on the lower shock mount. There is a significant gap between where the lower shock mounts.

I was wondering if this was normal and I should tighten the bolt and and see if the tubing compresses or not. Also on the left side if I slide the shock all the way towards the front the spring will hit the A arm tubing. I could always throw a washer in it but I was wondering if anyone else had this problem.

NOTE: The elka shocks are made for a 450r and the spacers are the right size. They fit perfectly in the stock a arms.

Are you trying to put shocks made for RT arms on LT arms? That isn't a good idea at all if you are.

If there is that much of a gap, add a washer. Don't try to tighten the bolts down to close the gap.

The shocks reducers look like they are the wrong size in my opinion.

I would call Elka and get some longer spacers. Or do what was mentioned above and slap some washers in there.

Thanks for the replys. I will have to call Houser. The shocks are long travel.

Here I am holding the end of the stock shock up below the Elka. You can see here that the Elka spacer is indeed the right size. I guess this is a Houser issue.

It sucks to buy something as expensive as a-arms, and not have them be close to perfect. I've gone through issues like this with Houser in the past. I bought one of the first design of XC LT arms they made, and the banjo bolt would the hit lower arm when turning. They were easy to work with though, and corrected the problem with the 2nd design.
