Ok, well when i bought the EX the guy said it was jetted for winter weather... but i think it bumped it down a jet or something because when i hit half throttle ( 3rd gear ) it just bogs... but putting the choke past 10% makes the bogguing go away. Also it wont start/run unless on 10%, but when i stop, the gas just poors out.....

Clean your carb throughly. Brake cleaner and some air through all passages..pilot and needle included. A 40 or 42 pilot and a 150 main jet sould run fine in colder weather up to 1000' on a stocker.

Sounds like a couple of problems. Stuck float and clogged jets. I think a good cleaning is in order and maybe a replacement of the needle and seat for the float... kinda like Sandraggen said. Hey Sandraggen: Do you run the Flat River Gran Prix? We went in 2000 and I thought it was great!

Yeah Clean the chit out of it and check to make sure everything moves freely and nothing is sticking. Like the others said.. Make sure of the jetting.

Take off the carb of the motor and take off any plastic that is on there and through spray it down with the cleaner. If you got the manual it'l tell you how to blow out the jets with compressed air if you have any.

But if not just thorughy hose it down with cleaner inside and outside, every passage way everything,

When he changed jetting for winter he could have possibly bumped the floats out of adjustment.

ok ive taken my carb off and i checked the main jet... its stock 148. Now they say you dont need to bump the jetting up on a stock motor, if this is true, what explains the bogging when i hit 3rd gear, which can be fixed when i richen it up with the choke. also again it wont start or idle without the choke being on 10% ( that nutch ) and im sure the pilot is stock too. And why is my carb leaking gas so much..? i can post a picture if needed too.

Can't really help you on the EX carb, I have never had one apart. It would be hard for me to discrib it. I am sure someone can walk you through it step by step.

Okay I am briefly gonna explain this.
I did not mean check if the floats are damaged or anything.

On the R there are 2 square floats. On one end they are conected by a par which a pin runs through and attaches it to the carb. There is a tab on the pin. Now, bending that tab on way or another determines when the float valve shuts off(which direction does which I can't remember right now). If it is bent so the float is to high when it shuts off the valve gas will just run out of the carb. Too low and over a long WFO run it will run out of gas a die.
