WD40 will work. When you are cleaning the quad get a tooth brush and scrub the shocks then you can clean them with WD40.

I remove my shock covers, wash the shocks with a sponge... As well as the rest of the atv, let dry, and I too spray WD-40 on the cross-over springs.

If for some reason they get really dirty/dusty, I too would use a tooth brush, but normally my shock covers work very well!:)

I have compression adjusting knobs that I periodically remove, clean, and spray down with WD-40.

WD-40 works for me.:)

dont spray any wd-40 on your shafts though! Thats a big no no. It will attract dust and cause premature blown seals. IThe best thing to do is take the springs and crossovers off, lube them up with some motor oil, put them back on then put some shockwears over them. Shockwears def. help and will keep your shocks in good condition. SUre they might wear the paint off your springs, but ide rather get to a race and my springs be wore off then get to the line and see my seals are leaking. But like i said, keep lube away from your shafts;)

Yeah for 15 bucks you really cant beat the shockwears when it comes to prolonging the life of the shocks

So on the shaft of the shock just put motor oil on it? What do you put on the bushings?
