09 Plastics on a 99-04?

I'm sure this has been covered before on here, and I have not found any solid answers to whether it actually fits and if or what modification need to be done to get it done RIGHT.. Any input or pictures would be appreciated... Thanks

All of the 400ex frames are basically the same so any of the plastics will fit. Except to use the newer style you may have to weld a few mounting brackets for the fenders and lights and such. Really simple actually.

Awesome, I was sort of thinking the same thing... Do you think you would have to replace the Key location or Reverse switch, I have not seen an 09 up close so I dont really know exactly where all that is on the quad

Key and stuff is on a little dash that goes on your bars. You could just drill holes int he hood or make your own metal dash tho.

would a tank swap from an 09 work/ bolt on the same way as the 01? I've been trying to do some research and cannot find much about this..

Im almost sure it mounts the same way, the frames are the same they didnt revise much of anything but a few tabs here and there. Looking at the parts catalog for ya it appears the heatshield is also different, but the tank appears to mount in the same way the old ones do. 2 bolts up front and the rubber straps in the back.

Very nice, I appreciate the info... Going to possibly trying doing the swap this weekend with both quads setting side by side.. I'll give an update on any other problems or tricks we might come across.
