View Full Version : Is this an oem TRX 250R rear axle?

I picked up my TRX 250R this past October and noticed it had a pretty beefy rear axle but just got around to taking some pics of it. It hardly tapers at all on the ends. It makes my KFX 400 oem axle look like a broom stick in comparison.

not sure, judging on the oem brake hub and axle nut setup, I would say it is. Most people when they get a axle replace the stock brake setup w/ an anti-fade. Looks like a stock rear rotor too.

It looks a little different than my 89 oem one. Mine is around 1.5" at the nut side and then tapers to 1.06 before it gets to the hub end and then there is a collar where it meets up to the hub.
As old as it looks, the anti-fade may not have been available or the owner just went with the stock hardware.

Welcome-
You have a pic to share of the whole quad?:)

Looks like it might be a Dura Blue stock width HD axle....

Thanks for the measurements. I just went out to the garage and used a tape measure since I didn't feel like getting my digital calipers out. This one is about 1 5/8 by the nut and really doesn't taper much at all, maybe an 1/8th or so.

Here is a pic of the quad shortly after I got it. I have since added black wheels and am in the process of adding an 88-89 style headlight.

Definately aftermarket. Make sure you tighten and thread lock and tape your jamb.
