Just picked up my bone stock 07 few weeks ago. I'm comin off a built 440ex. Which was done right no corners cut. It actually kills the stock 450r. At the moment anyways lol.

What's the best mods and stuff? Reading here seems most favor dasa exhaust for power.

Do big bores wake these up? Or just more compression? It's Gona get ported and polished for sure.

I wanna make power without having to run straight race gas. So share ur builds or combos with me please. I'm wanting a Je piston this time around. Just from reading they are lighter

Ive ran a couple 06+ based motors. I seem to find good reliable power with a 12.8:1 piston, cam( for a drop in cam i like HC 1 or CRF cam), port polish and opening the air up to it. Dasa does seem to be one of the top picks for letting them breathe. What kind of riding will you be doing? If your gonna be puttin in long moto practices or trail rides i would go for what i listed above, If your going for 300ft and shut it off then the list can go on but by you wanting to stay with pump gas im guessing your not a drag racer lol

a good power built but still realiable setup would be a 12:8:1 piston,p&p,stage1or2 cam (or as stated above crf cam),and if in the budget +1 valves. big bores are great but i prefer to build stock bore motors because while alot of big bores are fast and torqey you can make a stock bore eat one alive. while keeping it realiable imho

New Yoshi puts out better #s than Dasa. Not saying Dasa is junk, but a well known motor builder has been telling all my close friends to run the new Yoshi over his own Dasa built pipe.

Not all out drag. Just want quick.

A few locals told me keep stock bore.

But a big bore with all supporting stuff really woke my 400ex up. Just wana research. Do it once

Put in an HRC cam (05-07 CRF cam); split the head gasket and remove the center layer; full Dasa, sparks,HMF, Motoworks, ect..(just about anything tried and true); rejet. Youll have all the power you need for woods or MX on AM levels and keep pump gas as well as reliability. Spend the rest of the money you save on those big bore kits and things for suspension. These engines also resond well to a good port job.

Yes. RS2 full system. Look at Hetricks Honda. His engine builder was the one who has been saying thats the best #'s put up.

You can get an honest 50-52 with that combo I told you about. However, headwork is where the power is. Get your head ported by a reputable head porter. Then, that may still not get you to 60.....the rest will nickle and dime you to death. Such as a bored carb, higher compression piston, ect...

ferrera valves are top notch, I'm actually in the process of a rebuild on my 04. I would go with a cp 13:1 piston, webcam with spring kit, +1 valves, 43.5 FCR carb, FCI or DASA Intake, Full DASA exhaust, EXTREME port job lol, the list goes on and on haha... But thats just me...

motoworks for sure! best bang for your buck seeing as you can find a brand new full system on ebay for 330 shipped, and pros like hetrick, denoble, etc are running them.

Sorry, coulda swore at some point he had a Yoshi on there. Anyway, Dee @ RAGE was the one who found the new Yoshi to put out the best #s even over his own pipe and Dasa. I know a bunch of guys around here that run one that all say they can tell a big difference. Even Pat Brown his last year of racing was running one and said the same thing.

Any word if it will ever be available for the 04/05's?

Your all wrong MOTOxperts sells the best performing Honda pipe and has dyno charts to prove it, second to them was actually a old white brothers carbon pro, yeah surprising, and hetrick ran motoworks the whole time he has been on a Honda,

I'm slowly gathering parts

Cp 14.1:1 piston & cometic gaskets standard bore
Web cam
Dasa exhaust
Head will be ported & polished
I'm wanting a velocity intake.

I'm debating oversized valves. I read some go +1 on exhaust only. Some just on intake.

Give me some pointers. I'm wanting to decide soon.
May throw suspension under it soon. Start racing!

Thanks
