Will the motor from an 87 banshee fit in a 2001?

Should. Only difference is the 87 has j arms.

yes it will i just rebuilt my buddies 87 banshee motor and swapped the whole bike over to a 98 frame and a arms setup instead of the j arms

Sounds cool thanx for the info! Basically will be doing the same and if can save the 01' motor I'll be putting it back on and then just need some lights and pipes for 87' and they'll both be ripping hopefully for less than like $2k. Do you know what it takes to remove the tors junk our whatever that junk is on the carbs

i am not exactly what my buddies dad did to get rid of the "TORS" junk..... Throttle Over Ride System..... i think he ended up getting aftermarket carbs but i am not exactly sure what he did to the wiring harness if anything... i will try to find out for you and get back to you... you also could try to find out more information on bansheeHQ

Very simple. Have to get the cap kit and idle screw kit. Not expensive.
