my 440 build from a few years back spun a rod bearing the other day :(



it lasted pretty dang long all things considered..

was hotrod crank kit.. wiseco piston 12.5 to 1. cometic gaskets, hd studs, shaved, decked, ported, polished, cam , 450r carb

i think was built in 04 or 05...
idk if was a parts malfunction or got over revved by a buddy. but spun the rod and that let the piston eat the cylinder a lil.

i am happy to say it smokes the crap out of my new to me 07 450r its stock for moment!

anyways new stuff ordered.. anyone else had any hot rods failure???

If it was built like that in 04/05, I think it was about time to go.

Thats a pretty serious build, if you ride like I do Im surprised it lasted that long.

Ya. Lol. Being decked down and shaved I'm sure compression was 13.5 range. Amsoil only. Changes all time. Air scoops. Temp never was high. Had killer power. It never saw mud. But it was rode quite a bit. When rode it is usually hard. Wheelies. Jumps. Trails Talkin mostly extended high speed runs. Way I like to ride. Wicked for 400ex.

Which I'm wanting my r hoped up. If it would run 7.9-8.0 in 1/8 id be tickled.
