Will This Work?

Some of you may have seen my "Worst Case Repair Ever?" thread. Well, I have since purchased another left side case so I can get my bike up and running for the spring. Unfortunately, I found out today that the case was machined to accept a big bore cylinder. My motor is stock. So I'm wondering, will this work? My thinking is NO!

Yes, it will work.

Thanks for the reply. After looking at it some more I am starting to think it will. I don't know much about machining cases

Yes it will work fine, the machined case is just to let the skirt of a big bore cylinder fit down in it, it will have no effects on the running operations of the engine. Just put a stock base gasket down and bolt your cylinder up!!
