DSLR Camera (Pappy help please)

Looking to get a decent DSLR for myself but I have no CLUE what any of the stuff is. lol. It's going to be used pretty much just for taking pictures of the family and myself riding. I want a ready to use camera for no more than $1000. I'm looking at this one, but want some input first.

Is the Rebel EOS T3i the same as Rebel T3i?
