Alright guys. I recently put a 416 11:::1 wiseco pistion with a stage 2 hot cam. I ordered a 42 pilot jet and 168 main jet. I put them in and it was getting really hot and the header pipe was glowing red. But tomorrow i am putting a trail tech vapor and full yoshimura. I know putting the full yoshimura requires changing the jets but what do you recomend and is there any tricks to jetting them. I also have a uni air filter. I am also wondeding what the temperature on my trail tech should read? I need all tne help i can get. Im leaving for a big four wheeler trip tuesday and need this running right. If the header got really hot and glowing it was too lean. Up your jet to a 175 and check your plug, plug should look tan/chocolate brown. If its black its to rich and if its white its to lean.

what size jet do you recommend?

Its hard to tell b/c your elevation and air temps will be different than mine.

Usually around 170-178 is where you should be. If 168 was to lean then Id start at 178 and work your way down till the plug looks good and you dont have any bogs in the throttle.

I run a 180 or 185 in mine.....open air box. If your running open airbox you can put the lid back on an that will richen it up. Never saw a EX that had the headers glowing, may want to raise the needle a notch also.
