Getting ready to buy an 04

Next week I'm picking up an 04 for 800 with a blown top end. Now what I'm askin is when I have the motor apart what should I do as far as updates go? I'll have pics as soon as I get it. I'm callin out to all the blue riders!! Haha

The oil mod is a MUST

I can almost garuntee you the reason the top end blew is because the oil mod hasnt been done.

The reason for the oil mod is there was a lack of oil getting to the wrist pin and crank i believe.

I used to have an 07, i think 06 was the year they fixed it.

well after some observation, (fenders,swingarm) its not an 04 its actually an 06 ballance edition, it has all the gtyr stuff. and the reason the top end went was he had a 13:1 compression piston in it, and chose to run 87 octane in it once. barely has any compression. when i asked him if he changed the fenders he said no they were original, im convinced its an 06.
