Interchangeble suspension?

How much of the rear suspension on a 400ex will bolt right onto a 300ex. Like will the shock, or mabey the axle.

I think that most of it is not the same. There are a few basic parts the same: axle nut, brake pads, sproket, and maybe the hubs. I know that the bearing carrier, axle, amd rotor are different.

Somebody told me that they were positive a 400ex axle will fit a 300ex. With that said will the shock work too.
