well i decided im going to convert the ol 400 to xc ( not gunna take much)

sent a valve through my piston so im going to have to get my cylinder re sleeved to a 406 11:1 running 100ll

i think that will make plenty power and torque with my custom web cam and fcr carb setup i already have

i was thinking about running 13/38 gearing on 22's

also does anyone think i need anything else?

If your gona be racing invest in 450r shocks and get them revalved and resprung and in my opinion i would go to a 14 tooth front sprocket a 13 might be to much.

Didnt relize you had shocks already lol definately get a steering stem preferably in my opinion a ccp puck style i love mine. Do you have a good big front bumper for when ya hit a tree :D

Yea, deff. get a steering stabilizer and maybe some anti-vibe bar mounts or a stem that uses anti-vibe bar mounts. Fighting vibration and fatigue is what is going to wear you down in XC fast.

I would recommend just running 93 octane on an 11:1 setup unless your running in a hot environment. Running a better fuel at 11:1 usually means that your wasting your money. Also, running a leaded fuel will also burn out your exhaust packing much quicker.

I wouldnt go doing a whole lot right now incase you decide you dont like it.

But a steering stablizer and a few other odd's and in's and your good to go.

Depending on what kinda nerf bars you have, you may wanna take them off.
I like using nerfs but some brands stick out wider than my quad and in xc (as you already know) wider is not always better.

I wouldnt run anything over 48 inches wide.

Get the stabilzer, it also helps when you nick trees, stumps....from the bars jerking out of your hands, an hurting your wrists.

I ran 100 octane aviation fuel in my 428 an now my 406 11:1 an it ran great. After over 2 years an alot of races an hours on the 428 (426), I tore it down an it was so clean, light brown on top the piston, no crud, an still looked new, it also ran a Web cam an ported. I run 93 an some additives now in it, but that 100 aviation fuel is good stuff.

So far I LOVE my ccp stabilizer, its held up to great abuse and makes the quad controllable if you hit something and on the whoops.

I also like my tusk nerf bars. So far they have not bent or broke in any way and imho when I first got them although I was impressed with the quality ($170 bucks!) they did look somewhat like they would break b/c due to the way they mount and the tabs and such. Havent busted yet..

21in ft tires 20in rear, 400s dont like big tires, belly skid and gt thunder rear skid or rotor guard/sprocket guard setup, stab, suspension.

no aarm skids, they hold mud
