my 86 trx250r has spark sometimes coil or stator ????

i have never had a bad coil since riding 250rs in 86 and im not saying it couldnt be bad,just my experence. you should should ck to make sure you have good grounds before buying any parts. there is a ground for the cdi close to the cdi

ya there is a good ground ther is only 1 ? maybe the CDI is bad ??

its been a long time,but im pretty sure theres more than 1 ground .and yes it could be the cdi.does the motor run .the couple of cdis i have had go out,the motor would just die and with a lotta effort and messin around with everthing i could think of ,it would start and run again just to do the same again.the stators i have had go bad ran like the it was running like it was jetted overly rich and i have never had a bad coil.i would wait for others to comment before buying parts

no it braking ing up in 1st and 2nd gear
