I just got a set of +3 Roll lobo MX a arms that are for a 400EX, I was told they were for a 250R. I know all about the spacing were the a arms mount to the frame. My question is dose anyone know if Roll arms are different geometry wise between 400EX and 250R? I'm very particular about my Rs so if these arms are different were it matters I will list them for sale.

After reading the thread about spindle upgrades on this forum, Im pretty convinced that the geometry is the same on the 250r and 400ex. They should work out fine. I run 400ex spindles on my 250r a arms and everything seems to be perfect.

400ex geometry is the exact same.

I have been running +3 Gibson LT 400ex arms for the past two years on my R. They work great, just have to space them a little.

Put 1/4" spacers i believe on each side of each mount... or is it 1/8" cant remember.

My Roll arms are 400ex, I talked to Doug Roll and he said they are the same except the pivot spacing.

Thanks guys.

Siverlake, on your Roll arms did you put spacers on both sides per pivot mount or just one lager spacer in front or in back. Reason I'm asking is for the castor angle.

The cast or angle will not be affected. What ever you decide to do, you have to to do it to both the top and bottom arms so that the spacers are in the same spot on the arms.

You need to mount the shocks and loose fit the arms, so that you can see where then end up with out binding. For me I had them centered with the same amount of spacer on each side of each mount.

I put spacers on each side like Burns did. The caster angle will only be affected if you do something different on the top compared to the bottom. Otherwise, if you put the spacers on one side, it will just move the whole front end forward or back, for example, putting the spacers behind +3+1 arms would change them to +3+1.25

My buddy just bought some JSR A arms I believe for his 450r. They actually do the same thing, you have run spacers on both sides of the a arms, and you can use it to adjust the caster. It might actually be an advantage (400ex a arms) so you can adjust it to your liking. Post a pic of them when you get them bolted on!

Can-AM DS450MX stock arms are adjustable like that too.
