compression adjustment knob wont turn one way : /

So i just bought some elkas off a guy on here and the shocks were rebuilt not too long ago (new shaft, oil, etc). When i first got them on, we made the compression all the way stiff and it worked no problem. However, this morning i turned the knob back to all the way soft and everything seemed fine. Butttt then i tried turning it back to hard again, and its very stiff and doesnt want to turn. Any ideas?

The plastic compression adjuster knob can pack up with dirt. There is a set screw holding it on. Try removing the screw, and pulling off the knob. Clean out the adjuster and re-install. If this doesn't fix it, the comp adjuster may be messed up internally, and you'll need to have the shocks serviced.
