My parts account is only showing it in red-is fighting red different? Don't seem to offer it for a 250r.

Yep... fighting red was close to an OEM match and has been discontinued for the 250R. They still offer fighting red for 400EX's... which doesnt make any sense.

"Red" is darker from what i understand... and will not match my seat cover. If the still offer fighting red as a color for other bikes... why discontinue the OEM match and not "red"? Just my .02

So i am pretty much looking for a new old stock tank cover.

Exactly right TLR. The Maier Red is way to dark. I ordered a set and sent it all back. It was almost a burgandy color. I dont understand Maiers thinking either. You can get fighting red for other quads, so its not like that color is unavailable, yet you can order "R" plastic in black. WTF
