Thinking about buying a kfx/z400

I'm thinking about buying one of these two & was wondering what years I should advoid, & known issues. I just want a reliable back up quad for dunes & woods riding. Thanks

steer away form the 03s they had a weak frame and a grabbar you cant change. I would look at 06+, you get ressie shocks too

Ok sweet found some decently priced 06's on craigs.

And I beleive in 09 they got fuel injection. I really think the ltz/kfx/dvx is one of the best all around sport atv on the market. It can be made to do about anything,

03 the first year- weaker frame, pogo shocks, non-removable grab bar
04 - same frame, same shocks, removable grab bar
05-08 - stronger frame, piggy back shocks, TPS, removable grab, there was a recall on the clutch cover it was made of magnesium and would cause problems.
09 and up switched to EFI

iv got a 08 and i love it iv havent ever had any real problems with it just valves mines for sell too :P
