Can a CRF450R carb fit on a 400? is a TRX450R carb better or is there even a difference between the two? Is a FCR carb better than a 450r carb? How much does the zrpilot adapter cost? Will it fit on a crf carb?

Easiest one to to put on and tune is the 04-05 keihin trx450r carb.

No idea the answer to your other questions.

Does the crf450 carb fit on a 400ex? Is a FCR carb better than a 450r carb? Will 400ex jets work for a 450r carb? Will I have to change the jets if I get a 450 carb?

every single one of those questions are answered in the FAQ threads.. to sum up, yes, you will need to rejet, no your stock jets will not work. no clue on the crf carb.

I remember working on a crf and the carb seemed huge to me, as in wide and tall. Not sure if you can shove that on a 400ex but I could be wrong.

The same jets that fit in your 400ex will fit in an 04-05 450r carb, the pilots are the same as well.

The reason most people dont run the FCR carb is it doesnt fit all to well in there.

when i said they won't work i meant they will most likely be way off from what you actually need. will they fit? yes. will it run correctly? no.

Oh dear god no, DO NOT use the dynojets inside any carb.

You need to use oem keihin jets which can be purchased at www.jetsrus.com. I wouldnt ever dun that dyno jet crap in anything I own. I tried it once, waste of money, time and effort.

I think they are the same but the newer carbs are for better throttle response, the older are for better hp because they are bigger

Dyno jets work fine for me havnt had any problems with it, my engine runs fine with em, wat was the website ya'll buy the 04-05 carb from? can I still use the stock throttle cable with it? All I need to instal it is the carb and adapter right?

Although I agree with Marc that the Dyno-Jet brands are not as accurate as the Keihin OEM jets, but they will work.

If you have to buy new jets (which unless you buy the 450r carb off of another 400ex with very similar mods/elevation, you WILL) then I would buy nothing but the OEM's product.

find a used carb either on here or ebay. you need a 450r throttle cable. adapter is not technically needed, but it makes the install much cleaner and easier.

that's an awesome price if it's legit. They normally go for 100+

Yea, I paid $100+$15 shipping for mine, but it looks brand new. The others I saw were covered in grime and didn't look like they were taken care of.

What are you guys using for fuel lines? I got some line that fits the petcock and some that fits the carb and a reducer to tie them together... I would rather use one line for visual reasons.

I bought 2 carbs, one for $50 shipped and one for $25 shipped... I'm putting one on my buddies bike tonight and the other is going on my wife's build.

The reason you dont want to use dynojets is that although they work they are neither accurate in size nor give proper throttle response due to the adapter they used b/c they are to lazy to just make or source the proper jets for a carb.

I had them, they worked ok but no matter what size I used it seemed to rich and bogged a bit. Switched to OEM and not only is the throttle smoother but b/c the sizing is much more accurate I burn way less gas b/c its not dumping it in there.

You dont want to listen thats fine, good luck getting it tuned right. Many of us have been there and done it before and when we went to OEM the results were much better.

Please do so before you spend countless hours tuning for much of nothing.

Im not trying to be a jerk, but ive been there and done it-I couldnt get it to run properly with them things and Im not alone.
