Which seal is the first to go?

On the water pump for an 05 there is an oil seal, a bearing and a mechanical seal. The mechanical is pretty expensive for a seal so im just wondering which seal actually would go bad to release cooant out of the weep hole? in other words, which seal would i replace if i were only to get one of them.

If you are getting coolant from the wheep hole that is usually the mechanical seal. If it was the oil seal you would be getting oil in your coolant or coolant in your oil.

if your replacing one seal might as well just replace both to be on the safe side

The purpose of the weep hole is to tell you the mechanical seal is bad. Since you have to take it all apart anyway, I would replace the bearing and oil seal also.
