I was looking at my sons 250 and noticed their is not much Travel in the rear shock. We run Fox Podium and it works well. But has anyone ever thought or tried to run a different swingarm so that a longer travel shock can be used. If we used a linkage it would help. A 450 swingarm is only a half inch to wide to mount. i was thinking of cutting down a 450 swingarm and mount a linkage to the frame. Any thoughs would help or deture me from trying something new. lol

We thought about trying a link suspension on our lonestar, but way beyond my engineering. The more straight up and down that shock can be the more effficient that shock will work. Yamaha lays that shock down way to much!!!

I think I’m going to take a yfz and put it on a stand and level it out and pull some measurements and angles and see what I can come up with. The one thing im wondering about is it the motor sets to far forward that the chain might give me fits. As in being too loose when shock is compressed and chain angle to sharp against the frame where the swing arm bolts on. Well see lol
