I HAVE A CT RACING PIPE ON MINE....WELL WORTH IT, BUT A LITTLE ON THE LOUD SIDE. SCARES OFF ALL THE "UTILITY" QUADS IN THE AREA I RIDE....HAHA!!! IF YOU ARE GOING TO SPEND THE MONEY, LOOK INTO THE CT'S...THAT'S MY 2 CENTS WORTH.

Are HMF (for 400exs) LOUD?????? In comparison to a T-4 or E-series?

I've got a T-4 and one of the guys I ride with has a HMF. (both on 400ex's) The sound level is about the same I think. The HMF might be a little louder, but very close.

My cousin has an HMF slip-on on his 400EX and my other buddy has a Pro-Circuit slip-on. As far as sheer volume goes I'd say the two are roughly the same. But their tone is very different. The HMF has a little lower tone to it while the PC sounds a little "tinny" in comparison. In a drag race there was no comparison. The HMF quad pulled ahead every time and both quads are stock except for the slip-on and a K&N with the lid removed. No matter who piloted the bikes the HMF always pulled ahead by about 1 bike by 4th gear.

hmf will out perform the pc everytime, but the overall fit of my hmf slip-on was not correct, the bottom mount that goes to the frame never did line up, so I didnt put a nut in it, but there is no leak, and the top mount seems to be holding up good, but I have my worries by the way I jump my quad all the time...

I like my pc. I raced my one buddy's 400ex w/white bros cam, e-series pipe, and i think bored 40 over. And beat him by about a half a quad length. It could be just rider and me being lighter but i dunno mine was all stock cept pipe even stock jetting and i still pulled him:eek2:
