That depends....I believe you get a little more HP gains out of the e-series...it's tunable....but the R-4 is more for racing applications. It's cheaper and louder....but I like it!

Hmmmmmm....I believe the R-4, but don't quote me on that. There are people on here that know more about them than me....I run the E-Series with an FMF HiFlo header.....I have the cap on with 10 disks and like the power. My boyfriend has the R-Series on his Raptor....he is happy with it, too. I honestly don't think there is going to be that much of a difference between the two.......it might boil down to a personal preference thing.

the e-series, no doubt:D

e- series no doubt, for a basically stock this would be the best buy really wakes the motor and is also tunable, though the r-4 has more bottom but the e-series can be tunes to perform simalir. though the pro-meg e-series would be the best in my opinon with the reverse mega-phone design. hope this helps.

I have the E-Series with 3 rings and a removed spark arrestor. And it has great low end. Its tunable and it Kicks.

uh when you remove the spark arrestor it is no longer tunable and there is no point in haveing 3 rings on there cause there doing absolutly nothing

Yep....I was running my pipe without my arrestor because I liked how loud it was....but put my arrestor back in because I needed the power boost for holeshots. Now I'm all quiet and sneak up on people in races......:D

I don't know the power difference, but I bought the R4 because of the money I saved. I just checked and there is only $8 difference in price. Let me think of another excuse to buy the R4. The R4 is lighter and weight equals horsepower.

I love my E-series. It is tunable, and it sounds good also. It offers a good power increase. Plus its alot lighter then stock

I don't personally own a r-4 but my next door neighbors do. This is on the YZ426. Mark Baldwin made it a shorty. This thing sounds freaking awesome. It's probably just because its a yzf440 but there has to be some reason for Mark to put this on the bike. They built it with the absolute best of everything so the r-4 can't be to bad.

correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you can turn the r-4 some what, not to the extreems as the e-series, for the r-4 you can buy diff. end caps, with diff hole sizes large, medium, and small.

ive got the e-series and i love it too. my dad wont let me drive the ex without the disks on it because its too loud and im gonna P.O. the neighbors.(i have 2 neighbors, each about 500 yards from my house:rolleyes:) so whenever we get a snowstorm and i can ride on the roads, or if i go riding at a friends place...off with the disks!!!!!!!

I'll third that.

I love my e-series. The R4 will give you a little more bottom to mid power because it is less restrictive and also louder because it is less restrictive. The e-series gives good bottom end and pulls hard all the way to the top, its tuneable. I dont recommend running it without the spark arrestor, yea it sounds cool but it destroys the motor, my friends 400ex barely starts now because he's been running strait pipe for 4 years now. DON'T DO IT!!!!:confused2

I dont think they make these for the R4, they do for the Yoshi though.
