My z400 was running fine then it started to sputter it has plenty of gas and is getting gas any sugestions?

try cleanig out the carb and check your air box.

Checked those things and still stumped it only does it when its in nuetral. :confused:

only in nuetral? Not when you are riding? what does it do when you stab the throttle?

Yes it only does it in nuetral when you give it gas it sound like you hitting the rev limiter but in any other gear it does not do this.

Like its in reverse? Makes me wonder if it has something to do with a reverse switch/sensor or something.

pull of the white cube behind you shifter i think its two alan head bolts wipe it off good and then scuff it up a little with sand paper or a brilo pad when those copper circles dont get a good circuit it can think you are infact in reverse when you are in neutral.
