buttoning up my rebuild and my exhaust doesn't seem to line up? If I put the header on first the slip-on mounts are to far back by about a half inch.

I'd say the header isn't all the way seated..It can be tough to get in there especially if you didn't get all the old copper gasket out and just slapped in the new ones.

no, it's just the opposite. like the midpipe is too long or something.

Mine takes a little muscle to get it on all the way. Try twisting it as you push. WD-40 will also help.

could also be a bunch of crap built up on the end of the header, or inside the end of the slip on.

If i didnt like you i would tell you that your exhaust bearing is probably not set all the way! :D Just kidding with ya man.

yea I had the slip-on on all the way butted up to that raised ring, and the holes don't line up....

It will cover that ring when on all the way. Just the very end of the pipe will fit around it. I don't think you should be able to see the ring.
