I need a new right side 1987 case. The nice thing about those, they come with factory bearings installed.

This might not be the best place to post this, but I talked to Tom at ESR, 2 days ago, and he said one case side is done and Eddie was working on the other as we spoke and should have the other side done and ready by Jan 1... FWIW...

Yeah of 2013 maybe!!!! They've been telling me the 8 plate baskets will be done in a month or two..............8 months ago! Those should be easier than cases to produce! I wouldn't hold your breath!

Now if I can just get a 88/89 NOS Right side case, then I'll be in business!! This is gonna be the best way to start my LED motor that ARLEN doesn't know he's building yet!, lol! I just have to save up about $10,000 and then I'll be able to afford him, lol. Just kidding, on the real though, I know that he won't stand behind a motor that he hasn't gone completely through. Makes sense,
Thanks Higgy!!

Just relax and wait or move on. I am in the same boat but they are working on a lot of good things for the 250r right now. I can understand where a deadline would be hard to give and if you ask for one it might not be correct. I am just glad that they are doing what they are doing. I just went with the repainted cases for now and it looks like I will be kicking myself real soon.

No I agree with you, they are keeping us alive with there new stuff. I'm fortunate enough to have a few sets of NOS cases if a disaster strikes!

you can use any year cases, you don't need a 88/89. You know 85 cases were black also. 85 cases are discontinued, there is plenty of NOS 85 motors out there if you want a black case. Other options are have a set of 86/87 cases painted(still available for the most part), if you call Cal-atv, they might have a 88/89 case. I would get what is available and have it painted to match. 86/87 cases come w/ bearings and seals, 88/89 don't. Funny I got 2 sets of 86/87 cases new and they are molded just like 88/89 cases. It seams the only difference in them is the color.

isn't the front motor mount more open on the 87-89 cases as well??

originally 85-87 were kinda closed up, I have original 85-87 cases, not much of the bolt showed, it had a small gap. 88/89 had it more open, new molding of cases has the 88/89 design. A reason for the change could be how easily the front motor mount bolt got "clogged" with crap.
