I can't wait. Now I won't have to drive to Jersey or PA to go riding. It's only about ten minutes from my house, so I'll be able to go riding on my days off whenever they are.

hmm,...ATV riding area??
hope this means a MX track ...not just an area..

Anybody know where in New Castle? That is the best news I've heard lately! Hope there are a couple tracks.

From what I've been told, it's just south of the Rt 13/40 split. Keep heading south until you see a Wawa on your left, and make a left at the Wawa and it should be right down that road. I can't guarrantee the accuracy of these directions, as I have not seen it myself, but I'm going to head down sometime, just to check out the progress.

I just got back from Blue Diamond Park. It is opening tommorrow. I talked to a few guys who were out doing some work on the track, and they told me that they didn't know alot about the cost yet, but that it would probably be around $20-$25 a day. I'm hoping that they offer annual memberships. I also got to see a guy out there testing the track on a yz450f. Looked as if there are some pretty nice jumps on the track.

I am going to try and go on friday afternoon to take the 400ex on one last ride before I sell it. I don't know if the track is the only place to ride as of yet, I will let you know. YLW, its only about 35 to 40 minutes from Dover, a straight shot up rt. 1.

From what I was told, quads will be allowed on, but they aren't allowed on the whoops section. I have heard that the atv track is close, but they havent started on any trails yet.

I went to the Blue Diamond Park 2 weekends ago. It cost 25.00 to become a member and 20.00 to ride. There is a decent quad track that is not finished yet. It was advertised to be over 2 miles long. I think someone was smoking some good stuff when they measured it! It has some good hairpins, no big jumps, one good drop off(which was fun to watch the inexperienced riders eat some dirt at the bottom of) It is not strictly for quads. It was a little confusing to figure out the lay-out at first, and I still don't know if we were using it the way it was designed. The bad thing is watching out for the other confused people. I would like to see it marked somehow, as of then, it was not marked at all. It was hard to get in real good laps without worrying about some confused 10 yr old kid on his CR80 going the wrong way. Quads were not allowed on any part of the big motocross track. There were 2 more motocross tracks in the works and I don't know if one of them is for quads or not. There were some pretty steep hills to climb that were off the beaten path and other little trails and dirt piles that people were playing on. There was 2 little tracks for the kids. No kids under 12 can ride a quad! It looks like it will be a nice place when finished. Until then, it will just be a legal place to park and ride with cold Mt. Dew and hot dogs. Later

Cool, thanks for the update!! I might wait till they get the place a little more organized before I go up there...Where all do you ride at Vet?

I would still go and ride, it'll be worth it. You should be able to be there in less than 45 minutes. Its not that bad, as long as you know what to look out for. There were about 20 quads there when I went. I live near lots of trails and old gravel pits, which is where I do most of my riding. I raced twice at Budds Creek earlier this year, rode at Rausch Creek, Blue Diamond and want to race this weekend at either Flying Dutchmen(harescramble) or Mt Pleasant in NJ(motocross). Later

Cool man. Did you run a D-7 race at Budds this year? What class? I am running D-7 now. There is a D-7 race at Budds Oct 12th, you outta come out. Have you been to the Landings over in Easton? Thats a pretty cool place. We also have Middleford in Seaford Delaware which is also pretty cool....

Hey exvet, do you ride much in Northeast? Ive heard the cops were bad over there recently.

400exvet
09-26-2003, 09:33 AM
YLW400, yes one D7 points race at Budds Creek(4 stroke class), the other one was not a points race. Have you raced at The Landing?
kwatts, I do ride the N.E area and never encountered the law. I have heard of them being at different areas, but have never seen them. We've been riding those trails since the mid 80's. If you know where to go and how long to stay there, you're O.K.

YLW400

Yea, I have raced there twice this year, and ride there somewhat frequently. Have you been there yet?

I just wanted ot put my 2 cents in on Blue Diamond. It might be alittle more fun for me because i have both a uad and a bike so i get to ride on both tracks but, everytime i have been there it has gotten better. IMO more organized track maintance, more jumps. it doesn't have trails. the so called atv track that actually bikes can ride on and that i like better is kinda well more natural terrian thats been groomed. but its great place to go and get frustraction out. and have good time with your buddies. no camping but i live to close for that anyway. plus there are some awesome bike riders to watch and learn from if you like that.

I heard the bike MX track is very technical.....even for A riders...... I don't know if I am going up there until they get a good quad track.....

10-16-2003, 01:57 PM
Hey ylw400! The quad track is O.K. but it does get boring unless you can find others to run/race with. There is usually some real fast guys there. They are set up strictly for MX. One guy is on an old white and yellow beater with missing headlights and flapping plastic, sits real low and real wide...he is fast! There was a group of 4 250R's from Jersey that were quite fast also. How did you do at Budds last week? I think I will be going to Seaford on the 26th. You going? What classes do they have? Is it Quads only that day? What time is registration and start time? Later

Ok, Ok Ok,,, I'll give it a whirl...lol I did real well, I got 2nd in both motos..Got a big arse trophy, so that was cool!!! I'll be at Seaford this weekend practicing..you outta come out..I am not sure of sign up times, but I Will find out this Sunday and post them........

I just saw where I didn't answer all of your questions...lol It is a D-7 race, so there will be bikes also. For Quads the classes are A,B,C and Vet. Obviously C is the biggest class, A,B and Vet are normally 8 riders and below in each of those classes. I would assume you have to be signed up no later then9..so get there early....I think I answered all of them...lol
