That is a killer deal...Especially when you consider that the normal.price of the billet wster pump cover.is $ 69, and.the seal kit is around $50....I ordered mine and while I was at.it I went ahead and ordered a rear brake lever which he let me have on sale for $79, and a kick start lever on sale for $79....Can't best those .prices....better jump on them now....

Sorry about these typos....I was on my phone earlier.....

Real good deal right there. I was quoted around $250 just to get the quick change mod done to the stock cover when doing 10 at a time.

So I bought 3 of them. Gonna polish them up nice and shiny. Have not seen one done yet (polished).

Puma, I would like to have mine polished up as well. Would you be interested in taking on another?....

The moderators cannot let me do soliciting on this site. I will post a thread on the polishing of the covers but cannot accept offers from the public on the forum. Hope you understand what I am saying.

I just love this hobby. Thank ESR for a low cost solution to expensive quick change covers that go for $450. Economically I would suggest everyone that wants a quick change cover to get one while they are still $199. You will be helping yourself and helping an industry leader to help us get replacement parts at a good price.

Yes sir I do...:D My bad!

As far as ordering from ESR.... I placed my order online yesterday, and recieved a call back from Tom stating that there was a glitch in the website that only allowed them to view the last 4 digits of the card number entered. I had to give him my payment method over the phone...

I had to do the same. If you want your order shipped right away, call them.

just got off the phone with Tom, in order for this to work with the 8 plate clutch, your gonna have to grind the heads of your bolts, that hold your pressure plate down. i'm gonna see about some button heads first.

The whole cover is probably going to be to much work to sand down and polish. I am just going to cocentrate on the outer cover and the WP cover

Not sure if they could have made the casting any worse, even if they tried.

They look like sand castings to me. I would think a die cast or even an investment casting would have a nicer finish than a sand casting. Sand castings are probably the cheapest.

The OEM cases and covers must have been die cast..?..

Also, I wonder why they say "TRXr" on them. I guess i can see "TRX" or "250R." Just never thought of my quad as TRXr. hmm.

Must have been a spin on trx250r....
trx250r, trx265r ,trx310r, trx330r, trx350r, trx370r, etc etc etc = trxr
I liked ESR on them myself but now it could be ran with any builder's stuff.

Not to mention the quad from the factory was called a TRX250R...

Thats kinda what I was digging at. I guess i would prefer it to have TRX250R on the side instead.

I called ESR today to ask about this cover. It says on their website that it has "improved water". They said the casting flows better to and from the water pump. Wonder how much better it actually is.

Anyway, thanks to ESR for a nice cover!

I am sure ESR would have put the 250r instead of just the r if thats all they sold. How many 250's do they sell? Probably none. It would be alot of extra stock to keep 310r, 330r,350r,370r,390r,400r,420r, and the list goes on in stock for each different motor.

Hummmm, sounds like a good market for custom lettered removable clutch covers, I'll need to tell Eddie about that.

I'm a fan of the Honda lettering on the stock covers. Do that and maybe throw a wing on there and you got yourself a nice cover.

The ESR quick change covers are real ruff as everyone has noticed. The first one I tried to sand for polish but it seemed like their might be too much time and not a desirable finish for polishing. So I sanded the second one with a 120 grit cartridge roll and put on 9 coats of primer.

I've almost bought one of those a couple times already, just haven't pulled the trigger yet. I'll need one for my Big motor. If they're that rough I'll probably outsource the cover and just have it chromed!! I love the Bling and the Polished aluminum just dosen't last like I wish it would!!!
Mr. Pumashine I'm sure you'll have enough shine on that motor to make up for the painted Clutch cover!!
Thanks Higgy!

Got the clutch cover painted for my current build. The paint is not as shiny as I would like it to be. But I need to ride this bike this month.

Its taken way to long to get this motor done. But I do believe I am finished. 412cc Honda pilot motor that started out as ebay junk.

I'm curious to know if that two bolt cover starts to weep, or leak. Any experience with these yet?

It does have a double o-ring seal. Sucker was a pain to get on there. This is how it looks when I got done.

Has anybody with these covers have an issue with the waterpump shaft not spinning freely? I just installed everything new and I cannot spin the shaft with my fingers even without the impeller on the shaft. The bearing is new and spun free before installing it. Once I installed the bearing it got tight.

Mine was tight, but it turns.
As far as the eight plate Hinson clutch, I used button head screws on the pressure plate, and still had to use the dremel tool a little for clearance.

When I went to press the bearing in it did not go all the way down. I thought I did not get all the overspray green off. I heated to 200 degrees and push it in again. It seems like it may not have gone in deep enough on one side. Kept pressing with no luck. The bearing did spin by fingertip without binding.

So Tony, you think maybe the interfearance fit in the cover where the bearing goes might be to tight, may need some adjusting.
Small as that pump shaft bearing, wont take to much of an overly tight fit to bind the bearing.
