Figured this would do the best in this section. What is everyone running for grips? I have some new bars coming and need some grips for them.

I really like my ODI lock ons. Tacky with gloves and soft enough for me. I have ridden several 6-8 hour loops in the last year or so and they stay comfortable and without blistering my hands.

and no more glue and wire...best thing to happen to a quad in 20 years.

Sounds like odi's are the choice. Are there different types of lock ons?

we really like Spider grips. Brent has used pretty much all of them and once he used the Spider brand he only wants them now. They have 2 styles for atvs http://spidergrips.com/

Oury's work great but they are way too big in diameter which causes arm pump. Ive recently switched to the pillow top Lites. They are the best grip ive ever used. I tried a ton of grips but i always had a hard time avioding blisters, i used the oury's and loved that i never got a blister but then i tried the pillow top Lites and my arm pump is basically gone and i still dont get blisters. I love them

I have pretty good sized hands. Oury's are the only grip for me. When they get worn out, they still work well.

I've used ODI Lock On Rogues ever since bmx best ever in my opinion. They also come in roughnecks I believe.

I always ran renthal soft diamond grips, I liked them but they wore out super quick! Made the switch to pillow tops a month ago and love them, they are holding up good so far and they dampen impacts better on the track.

ok so now im up between OURY's and ODI lock ons. I like the lock on idea though, less headaches it seems like. My LTR450 is a white one and i thought about white grips but that would stain quickly i believe. My bars just got shipped so im going to see which ones my local shop has in these brands. Doesnt ODI make the same grips for BMX? Isnt that 7/8" bars on those bars also?

I like the pillow tops and that is what I use and will use. I have and have had a set of Odi Rogue's on my quad. They are awseomw because they lock on but I did not like them on the quad due to them having to much grip (to fat) and I have smaller hands. I have since put them on my mountaing bike and they are an excellent choice for that. I think they now or somence makes a smaller lock on grip.

From what I have seen Odi does make the same the BMX bars and like I said they fit on my mountain bike bars with no issues.

BUT I really like my pillow tops.

It may just be me, but I thought my pillow tops wore out pretty fast. Once I put mx gloves on they all feel the same to me anyways...except Oury's, I go back and forth on whether I like the larger diameter or not. Right now I put on a cheap set of Moose grips and I'm sure they will be just fine.

id like the smaller diameter grips now that i think about it. The ODI's look to be a smaller diameter. I need to get some different gloves. The ones I have for riding makes my throttle hand feel "constricted"

I have found that the pillow tops do wear quick but they are the most comfortable for me and I get no blisters. I have found even when the pillows wear, they are still comfortable and as long as it is dry the grip is still fine. When I purchase them I find them the cheapest I can and get like 3 sets. I think the last time I purchased them I got 3 sets for about $10 or less a piece and ordered some other stuff I needed and shipping was free.

As long as you wear gloves OURY hands down. I put Pro Taper pillow tops on my 450 when I first bought it and after one practice at the track they were destroyed (and so were my hands). Then I put a set of OURY's on and run an hour and a half harescramble and not one blister.

ODI rogue lock on, never had an issue. 2 years of hard riding and they are slightly worn, but not much.

WTF :huh seems like som people are really hard on their grips..i dont see how one practice wears out a pair of grips even MX..i can ride in the dunes for hours blitzing whoops jumping dragging sand trails. I go on several day dune trips and they hold up awesome for me along with all the woods riding i do too..

IDK what people do with the grips lol.

About all thats worn on mine is the grip area a bit and the left grip area at the inside edge where I must grip alot. I mean its noticeable but its by no means worn out at all really. Thats 2 years of going every weekend pretty much unless it snows or is freezing out and riding for at least a good 4-7 hours everytime.

Seems tho, that the softer the grip is (what people tend to like) the more it will wear and come apart and sooner. These days I refuse to use grip glue as well, they make lock on grips for a reason lol

Oury's are all I will run on my race quads. I don't care for the ODI's because I run full wraps (I believe you can run the ODI's with them if you pop the cap off the end or something but not 100% sure). Oury's put on with a touch of gas in each grip, then wired. I'm rough on grips and these seem to last the best, and are by far the most comfortable.

I hate tacky grips with a passion. I bought a few sets of spider grips a while back, installed one set and it was garbage in no time, so I just threw the other sets away.

I'm often riding without gloves, which may explain why I hate tacky grips, but I want something that lasts for a while and is still comfortable enough to run without gloves. All my quads have Renthal full-diamond grips, in the hardest compound I can find.

Depending on where you are or the time of year, I have pillow tops on everything exept my 400ex, I put on some SPX heated grips and they are very comfortable IMO even if you arn't using the heating. But if it's not cold where you are theres absolutly no point in getting them.
