OH boy......:rolleyes2

Here's what ya look at..

Price,,which seems not to be an issue with you..

Do you want the shocks now, in July, or next year??

And what color springs do you think are pretty??

Axis, PEP, Elka, TCS, Works Pro are all top notch shocks and any one of them will meet your needs more than enough..:D

That's a tough question... but if you don't tell us more about what you expect to improve with your shock purchase, and I don't think you can get any great advice. It really depends on what you are looking for. Everyone of he shocks mentioned is the best shock for some particular person in some particular situation.

What is your situation. How do you want your shocks to work? Where do you usually ride? What complaints do you have about other set-ups you have ridden? Do you go big? How fast do you ride? Do you want shocks that are more comfortable, or shocks that help you go faster? Is Money an issue? Are looks an issue?

thanks for the responses guy i'm now gettin closer to purchasing the new shocks. the type of riddin i mainly do is fast trail riding, with a lot of jumping, like 40ft-60ft gaps but lookin to ge bigger after new shocks and a-arms. i am also looking into trying mx this coming summer at some local tracks.
thanks.

not elka i have leanred from an ex member that elkas use a smaller shaft than the stadium works, and that the quad rate is only a triple rate and they add the zps spring as the 4th
my vote is for pep and axis, or the works stadium series

axis is by far the best shocks made, then theres PEP, then maybe elkas, but not before axis, no way. and works just sucks

Last time I checked Elka was running the same shaft width as everyone else. I heard that the works pro series use the same shock body as the steelers but with a larger shaft. The larger shaft and same size body could result in slower oil travel......or thats what beerock said!:blah

alot of people on here don't no what they are talking about. not pointing fingers. They only repeat what other people said. Its all opinion. Do a search if you want to see some flaming posts on this very topic. then make a desicion. cause everyone's gonna say something different. I'm not even going to give you my opinion. cause it was already said. And im sponsered by them.

but i am not saying by any means that the elkas are bad shocks, they look nice:blah
nah if it were me i would go for the pep shocks if it was a quad i planned on keeping pep or axis....
i have experience with axis on my uncles raptor and they are sweet, and raced a raptor with only +1 a-arms and elkas and over the whoops it was no contest but that is also because my uncle has a+4 swing arm and long travel fronts....
so it isnt that great of an example

i just put my ELKAS on today. You can't tell much from my pic but I will have lots of new pics soon. Notice how much lower my quad sits now. I took it for a small ride and jumped it alittle and could really tell much difference from my works in jumping. But I was only getting like 1 ft in the air, lol. But one thing I did notice right away was how much better it turned. I think my corner speed is going to increase big time!

actually the elkas are a quad rate. you see the main spring or whatever (the biggest one) is actually 2 different stiffnesses in one. they coil the spring tighter on one end and it gives the spring more stiffness at one end and softer on the other. then you have to 2 other springs and then the ssd spring. quadrate.

personally, if you want some really cool shocks and money isnt a concern...look into the DeRisi Millenium shocks. totally custom and IMO the BEST shocks you can slap on a quad.

Here what it boils down to:

Basiclly you have to ask yourself a few questions:

How long do you want to wait?

1 week=Elka

2-3 Months=Axis

4-5 Months=PEP

How Much Do You want To Spend?

800=Elka

900=PEP

1400=Axis

That is basiclly it. They are all great shocks and if you buy one you are gonna be happy. As for the Works.. I have not had good luck with them. The steelers are horrible but the Pro Series are decent shocks from what I have heard but they get a bad name from they Steeler counter parts..

You decide. Do a Search and Do the mods and other members a favor so they don't have to go through this BS over and over again..
