Just make sure you read the directions... It will leave white streaks on the motor if you let it sit to long.

pic is before kicker was installed

just some 0000 steel wool, and mothers mag and aluminum polish, and some elbow grease...but it doesnt stay shinny for long, its not really worth the time I took to polish it,

still looks good but after a couple times of letting mud bake on it, the glaze comes back

01boneless
11-26-2011, 10:36 AM
wow tht must have took forever between the water pum and clytch cover!!!:eek2:

one night of insomnia and it was done, but I dont think it was worht it... the shine litterally lasted one ride, then the heat from the motor and the mud baking on while riding, made it look almost like I never polished it.

I dont think I would do it again, unless,I wasn't planning on riding it ever again,

its great if you just want to look at it, but if you want to ride it then its too much trouble...

then my first ride I found myself not even wanting to get it dirty.
I still keep mine clean now but I dont want to worry about getting it dirty, it wasn't as much fun riding thinking about missing the mud and water crossing.... NOT WORTH THE TROUBLE

Use updated OEM Bearings if you use the Hot Rod crank.

Dont fret, you've got months before the season starts back up.

My 450 is still sitting with a snapped steering stem and broken ball joint from cartwheeling last practice I went to (5-6 weeks ago). Not planning on swapping parts until after X-Mas. I want to ship my head to Venom this year too, but we shall see. I also 'need' a CR Ignition on my 250r to go with the sparks 280 jug I picked up, and I want to do something with the EX (kickstart conversion or 250r hybrid)

Too many projects, not enough time.... :(

Ive been keeping an eye on your build,

haven't replied much, but im following your progress, keep up,the good work and dont rush you have time till season is here

looking great so far,

Ill be starting a lsr no link framed 350r build after the first of the year, and then ill be making my 450 motor yearly changes,

I haven't decided on what ill be doing yet, but Im pretty sure ill be putting my crf head on, im just trying to decide if its worth having that head done up or just keeping it stock..

i Haven't heard of anyone having there crf ported for the trx, and im not sure who has the right flow designs for the head porting to work best with the heavier quads...

i still have some homework to do

01boneless
12-20-2011, 05:45 PM
come to think of it the crf heads make great power imagine a ported one!!! unless it would make to much flow and lose power  idk worth a shot!!

I have my opinions about those hotrods cranks but im just throwing facts out there just. Dasa, Sparks, and CT racing all have told me personally not to use those rods which i found out from a previous engine builder. None of them recommend using them so im just passing the information on to you. You can also call them if you like.

01boneless
12-20-2011, 07:25 PM
ok thanks you ill look into it what would be a option the updated honda crank??

just kidding... that is unless you can afford a falcon, but if you could afford the falcon you wouldn't be rebuilding this quad, because money wouldn't matter.lol

you could go OEM, or at least use OEM bearings

but SOOOOOO many have ran hotrods with no more issues then oem, just make sure its balanced, and properly installed,

you will have just as much a chance of any crank failure if not balanced whether it be oem, wiseco, or hotrods

I wouldn't worry about hotrods, just do it right... they might have a bad rep with the builders,

but there a a lot of them out there compared to many other types, I would guess the ratio of failure isn't much worse then replacement OEM

01boneless
12-20-2011, 08:41 PM
lol definitly cant do a falicon lol i was going stock stroke hotrod with oem bearings anyway but was told i wouldent need it balenced unless i was stroking it +3?

and if you can feel the vibration then im sure the bearings can feel it also

01boneless
12-20-2011, 09:16 PM
true but i dont think it would be REAL serious with a stock stroke if so ill get a updated honda crank. even tho hotrods SAY they come balenced. are you on org?

interesting port work!!... looking good,

keep us posted on the performance.. too bad you didnt have time on the quad for a before and after power difference.

just curious why didnt you have it decked?

01boneless
01-20-2012, 01:55 PM
thanks man!!
i had enough time on it to remember the power (if that makes sence) so ill be able to tell the diff to bad i couldent of had a before and after dyno test.
on the deck...idk realy haha guess since i am getting high comp piston (12:1) i dident think i would need it. I dont realy know what decking does ....other than add some compression right? also im realy afraid of valve and piston clearence ever since i seen my buddy thro a valve thro a 30sec piston lmao ... thanks guys!!

DnB_racing
01-20-2012, 02:05 PM
thats right, i forgot your still trying to keep it on pump gas...

ya decking raises compression.. but it does also require a little more work, as it slightly changes timing, ive used adjustable cam sprockets and had to dial in the cam timing...

I like high compression, when its set up properly:)

01boneless
01-20-2012, 02:15 PM
