Are you referring to the steering STEM? If so, most people get aftermarket stems to accept steering flags (increase turning radius) or get a taller stem to raise the bars. Aftermarket stems also have anti-vibe clamps and eliminate vibration almost completely.

The difference between stems is usually the material the splines are made of, how tall the posts are where the clamps bolt into as well as gussets at the top.

I like my Houser, and I have heard good things about the Ars-FX as well.

No I was referring to this... http://www.walshrc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.details&ProductID=87465

I'm running a JB +1 and I like it alot so far, it is my first stem that is +1 but I actually like it better and I'm not that tall

It says it increases turning radius and reduces bump steer over stock I was wondering

I have one on my Walsh stem really speeds up the steering and how far the wheels will turn. It's worth the money in my opinion. just have a good stabilizer lol

That's a steering flag like I referred to in my first post. They are almost mandatory on YFZ's because they have such a *****ty turning radius. They are definitely worth the money.

ARS-FX steering flag is awesome, i actually made my own and it is pretty sweet. I took 2 flags and made 1 identical to what ARS-FX does as they will tell you they modify the stock flag.

Nice mxpimp, so basically the difference is the two top flanges are extended out further to provide more turning radius. How much longer did you make it, you have me interested now for a little winter project.

I didnt make it longer its same length as stock i only dropped it down 3/8". If you look at the stock steering flag on the underside it has the V marks on it which you can see from the pic how i cut the 1st flag. I had 2 stock flags so i could take 2 and make 1. On the 2nd flag i just cut it striaght across the middle leaving the V marks visible on the underside.

I put #1 on top of #2 and had it perfectly centered and identical to the stock location and welded it all up. I used a industrial welder that really melted into the steel so i know its not going to break or crack under load.

Keep in mind you will HAVE to do the V cut because your tie rod ends need room to mount and swivel side to side. It will take a little homework to get it right but you will get the idea once you look at the flag up close
