Thats sweet! I wish KTM would come out with a new two stroke quad themselves.

^ I second that! Thought about emailing them and asking ktm to produce a 2-stroke quad. Since they are still doing R&D on 2-stroke bikes, why not quads?

It has the KTM 380SX dirtbike motor in it.

I wonder if the vibes are bad. People that have put dirtbike engines in quads say it rattles you right off the quad.

I want one!!!!!! I just wonder if they would sell as many as we R fans all think???? I'd have to be in line, esp if they put a rear linkage on he suspension.
Let's find a customer support address and everyone send a e-mail with pics of this quad and how bad it needs to be in production

It would have been nice if the owner would have told one of the other yahoo's standing there to hold the camera while he took it for a spin... I'd like to see something like this in action. :(

Do'h! The video of the actual build is pretty cool, he did a very nice job on the conversion - clean.

guy in uk had this done to his ktm but had to go back to the 450 engine, the 380 didn't have the power or reliability of the 4stroker

WOW. Welcome to the forum and enjoy your stay. If you would like to learn more about the reliability of the modern performance 4 stroke engine you can do some more research online. Have a great day.

Sorry for stating 1 guys opinion wasn't bashing 2strokers have 2 trx250r myself and prefer them to the 4strokers but sorry to say this the racing we do and tracks we use the 2strokers struggle.
Last years champ is racing a yzf with a cr500 engine this year and struggles against the built 450s.
Sorry if this offends anybody didn't mean to cause trouble.
Have a nice day :)

What size R motor vs what mods done to the 4 stroke? cr500 motors were built to lug along at low rpm's there not screemers. Your friend is probably trying to ride the quad either like a 4 stroke or like a small bore 2 stroke both will never show the true potential of the cr500.

I also find it very hard to believe that a cr 500 powerd quad would "struggle" against even a built 450. Hell werent the cr 500's like 68hp dead stock?

I would say it definitely wasn't 68. The KX500 was more powerful than the CR and it had 62 HP stock.

I'd take a well setup 330 over a cr500 any day.
