At high rpm while moving in gear. It will sputter sometimes and if I keep the throttle in it will backfire. I'm not sure what to check with this

Clean the carb, take the jets out and stick a wire in them to make sure they are clean.

Check plug, might be slightly to rich.

Also make sure your air filter is clean.

I'll check the plug later, filter is gOod. I put a bigger jet in 2 weeks ago for the colder weather but it ran fine until now. Yoshi slip on, no lid 1200ft, and ~50-60 deg. 155 main in

That main jet should be fine or maybe even a 158. It sounds like to me you may have gotten some dirt in the carb or knocked some loose when you changed the jet and it is now affecting the main jet.

But it seems like its getting too much gas, ill try a 152.5 and see if it works. But I figured the sputtering and backfiring was from too muich fuel.

Possible. Thats why I said check the plug, too black its rich to white its lean. Then you know what to do with jetting.
