Hey guys I just read the whole section on the replacement of the waterpump mechanical seal. For right now all I need to know is if I got the whole thing apart properly, because its going to the chromer next week and I cant leave any foriegn material in there. If anyone can help me ASAP I'll send them some photos over the phone to make sure that I rook it apart correctly. I just need some one to look at them and give me the OK!!!
Thanks Higgy!!!

The spring loaded part can be knocked out from the inner side of the clutch cover, its like a metal housing that knocks out... If thats what you removed your good to go!

No problem bud! These 250R motors are pretty basic to work on once you've gone thru one a few times, alot easier to wrench on than the 450R motors of today! Its easy to put the new mechanical seal back in, just use a large socket that only touches the outer ring of the mechanical seal housing and tap it into the cover with a hammer... Good luck!

Instead of using the hammer method, use an arbor press with a socket. It's much safer...

Be careful installing the new mech seal, that little part isn't cheap and easy to screw up.

Thats exactly what I used. A press and the right size socket! lol! Good Call. I bought one of those cheap Harbor frieght Presses when they were on sale for like $120.00. It's paid for itself at least 3 times already. Probably one of the best buys I've made in the last year!
Thanks Higgy!
