clutch lifter question..

ok so i took my cover off and the clutch rod broke so i put a new one in but when im puting the case on iand i get the end of the rod in the lifter i can even move foward ...what am i doing wrong...

Lifter rod must contact the clutch pin itself, putting the case cover on turn the lifter towards the back of the quad, it should catch the pin. Its tricky.
