need help sold my 06er bought 05 r

Loved my 06 but got tired of the issues I seemed to keep.
Bout a nice decked out 05r he said it had the jrc kit in it with the cam and has a.fmf powerbomb head pipe and titanium muffler
It runs good but don't feel.like it has the balls my 06 had I know there were some diffrences between 05 and 06 but how can I make the 05 feel like the newer one did.the 06 had stage 2 hot cam sparks pipe wiseco12.1 piston the the 05 just dosent have the snap of the 06..

well the 05's had 10:1 compression and the 06's had 12:1 stock . so id thro a 12:5:1 JE in it and that should fixer up. if its not real snappy it may not have a cam in it check and see. rejet open the air box port and polish alot you could do just depends on what you can spend jmo

The comperssion.could definately be my issue
I'm not Hung up on making it all it can be but the throttle response is quite a noticable diffrence to me.and the 05 is way quiter granted I had a sparks big core on the 06 but the 05 sounds like my rubicon even with the fmf.

I just got the 05 home a little while ago I will look into the cam and stuff tomorrow

Get a FCR carb.

The carb difference is part of your problem. Bumping up the compression wont hurt either but theres a chance that if your old quad and new quad were put on the same dyno, there may not be as much difference as you think. The FCR on the 06+ quads = come into the power in a totally different way which makes them feel snappier.
