04/05 carb vs 06 up carb

When it was 04/05 everyone was buying the crf carbs to get a better carb, and then everyone was glad when the 06 came with the new carb,

recently ive been hearing people swapping 06 carbs for 04 05 carbs, saying they are working better etc, but would not give much info , they are not the type to share info esp when telling why the part is beter would raise prices.

But ive heard this from several different groups,
is this just the 04/5 they wanted to bore them a certain way an 06 could not be or they 04 05 would work better for their certain engine, but everything they said the 04/5 was better than the 06 was what in 06 people said the 06 was better than the 04/05s,
no bog, better throttle response etc,

Anyone shed some light on this or are these just some misguided people

Some xc racers put the older carb on because it had a smoother power delivery and is less "snappy" then the fcr carb. It makes it easier to handle in the woods... They stock fcr doesn't make much more power but the throttle response is what makes it seem like more power. It's better for mx.

Real power from the fcr comes from boring them out..

I've been wondering the same , the older carbs are bigger than the newer
