alot of ppl say thay the 250x and 300ex are about dead even in a race while others say the 250 is faster..... i have riden both but i couldnt really tell for sure b/c the 250 was in snow...... but im not to concerned about stock...... say you take it to a shop and the guy does 1,000 bucks worth of work on each motor.... say now u have a 330ex and a 288x..... and better cam, piston, valve springs and so on..... nooww which one is faster.... same money spent, both bored out.... both after market sparks racing mufflers and no airbox with open filter....... ?????? anyone.... drag up to about 50 mph....

i think it would be the same cuz the only difference was that the X had a higher comp and a better cam but was a smaller displacement so if u changed all that with the same part it should be close to even maybe a little advantage to the EX. correct me if im wrong cuz im not that familiar with those quads

ya im thinkin the 330 would shine here b/c if the 250x had better internals stock but then only lacked in displacment then when u upgraded all your internals then the 42 more cc's that the 330 has would make it quite a bit faster but thats just a theory. so im not sure.....

the 330 the 250 has a high compression piston and a hotter cam. but if you have an aftermarket cam and piston they would be dead even in everything else besides cc's so the 300 would more than likely win the race

I duno, the 250X is lighter so it may be closer then you think to a 300EX when they are both built with th 80mm kit. I've never raced a 330EX with my 288X. I'm interested to see what the results are.

o yes, forgot what tires do they have on them and the weight of the riders, i think the 300ex is 15lbs heavier than the 250 correct me if i am wrong, but you have to see the weight of the riders and the size of the tires will make a dif. in the race

i don't know i have both a 250x and a 300ex both have jets and a pipe and my 300 will smoke my 250x. but i also know that when the 250x's came out you could buy 2 bikes from the same dealer and 1 would totaly out run the other. my dad ran into that to when he was riding. he got rid of his 250r when the 250's first came out (what an idiot!) and his buddy bought one to. they both weighed about the same amd had about the same experience and my dads 250 would smoke his buddies hands down. and they were both bone stock.

but i know you can take the intake from a 250x and put it on a 300 and get alot out of it cause the intake on a 250 is bigger than a 300. it's better than getting it ported and polished. atleast that's what my mechanic says so i figure he would know but i havn't done it yet.

I think I'm running a 145 main with the needle on the richest setting. I'll have to check the carb one of these days.
