I have been very impressed with this in the fuel and the maxima 75w gear oil in the tranny. Are any of you all using amsoil products in the trannys?

Is there another type oil that is better for a stock tranny setup?

I use Belray gear saver in the tranny. Because I had like 10 jugs of it on the shelf from when I had 250R's. Works good. I've also ran tranny fluid in the 50 tranny with no issues.

I do it every 2 races and it is still like when I put it in, probably overkill but @ 4oz per change you can't go wrong...........Jeff

Awhile back I had an engine builder do an engine for me and he suggested Maxima 927. I have been running it ever since.
I really don't think, as long as you stay with a well know brand, any of the oils are BAD. It's just a matter of preference.

Thats what i use to run.Switched over to amsoil and the compression checks got better.I ran a stage 6 motor all last year.It was fresh at the start of our season and it went 14 races and only lost 3 psi of static compression.I was having to re-ring it every 5 races before.

I can testify to that. Have not had any problems since I switched to Amsoil!

A dyno will show that Red Line makes the best HP. I've not used it but I will in the future if I cannot get:::
Torco GP-7 Best oil I've found in all these years. As a motor builder, it's simply amazing.

I've used the dominator in my 250R. I won't use it again. It's good oil but it didn't wear anywhere near as good as the Torco.

We ran 927 (bean oil) years ago till we raced in the winter. It separated and cost us a start.
It's just plain old school compared to the new synthetics.

Good luck. :)

wana talk about old school...we use to run golden spectro back in the 90's..that was the stuff back then but now its amsoil dominator...the $12 stuff. I bought a gallon of golden spectro 2 years ago becasue the motocycle shop was out of amsoil...2 tanks later the power valve gotten stuck up from the oil not burning up..this was on a new top end(yz 125) plus i bead blasted the valves before they went back in...it also left black marks on top of the piston. i burned the rest of the oil in a barrel at the drag strip and ran amsoil since then. I put a new ring in the bike after 8 mx races and 1 woods race...the piston still looked brand new...as far as the transmission...the honda 75w 80 sumthing transmission...it has the red fluid so when it gets a little dark thats when i change it...plus you cant go wrong with a honda:)
